Description
South of Market Health Center (SMHC) is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC) serving the inner city area of San Francisco.  We currently have openings for three full-time Primary Care Providers (MD, DO or NP).  Established in 1973, SMHC provides comprehensive primary care and disease prevention services to a diverse, multi-ethnic population.  Most of the 7,000 patients we see each year are poor and medically indigent, many who are homeless, transient and new immigrant families.

Located in Northern California, we have 3 primary care sites including our newly constructed main facility, a senior clinic and our old facility which is currently under renovation where we are planning to offer integrated primary care/behavioral health services.  In addition to our general medical program for adults, women and children we provide dental and podiatry services.  This year our programmatic goals include completing the transition to EHR and the implementation of Patient Centered Medical Home services.

In addition to the well known attraction of San Francisco as one of the world's most cosmopolitan cities, the South of Market Area or SOMA is one of the hidden delights of the city.  SOMA is adjacent to or surrounded by the nation's west coast financial hub, the famous downtown Union Square shopping district, expansive Yerba Buena/Moscone Convention Center, cultural icons including the San Francisco Opera House, the Museum of Modern Art and a lively assortment of restaurants and social venues.  There are many activities both outdoor and indoor for singles and families as well as excellent educational opportunities.  We are most easily accessed by San Francisco International Airport, but the entire Bay Area is easily accessible by BART, Caltrans and Amtrak.

Excellent benefits include medical and dental insurance, a generous paid time-off plan, and CME time and funds.  Salary is commensurate with experience.  School Loan Repayment may be a possibility.

We are an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity in the workplace.  If you want more information about this position, which combines making a difference in patients' lives with a family-friendly work life, please send your resume to: Asa Satariano, CCO/HR Manager at jobs@smhcsf.org or fax 415.503.6099 to start the interview process.
